"The White Tiger" from India!!

Aravind Adiga - the fourth debut novelist, second Indian debut novelist and fifth Indian author to bag the esteemed Man Booker Prize for Fiction 2008 for his award winning novel “The White Tiger”.

Amidst the chaotic job of a journalist while being a correspondent for TIME magazine and various articles for Financial Times, The Independent and The Sunday Times publications, the childhood dream of becoming a novelist persisted. Curious questions from South Africa and Latin America tourers to India, on less number crimes in India despite the noticeable heterogeneity among stratum. He keep scrabbling his thoughts in his ‘secret diary’ and thus the concept of the award winning book was born.

The story, which details a man’s journey from an indian village life to entrepreneurial success, was successful in acquiring reader’s sympathy and hold their interest. The originality and presenting the diverged aspect of India are few of the many attributes which made it a winner! The book was one of the six short-listed titles for the prize. The judges felt that the story shocked and entertained in equal measure.

Longlisted alongside with Salman Rushdie and Amitav Ghosh, Aravind is living his childhood dream of being a novelist!!
